She was the youngest of 13 children. Her mother was 52 at the time of her birth. She became a missionary in the Americas and started many schools, hospitals, nurseries and orphanages both in the Americas as well as Europe. She was the first American citizen to be canonized. Level 2 books are about 90-96 pages each and are written for about a fourth grade reading level or higher, although some third graders are able to read them as well because of the large print size and double spacing between lines.
