He received a good education, and he was an excellent student. One day, he had a vision where he seemed to hear the voice of Jesus say, "You are a follower of Cicero, not of Christ." After this vision, he devoted himself to prayer and studying the Bible. Jerome devoted 20 years of his life to translating the entire Bible into the everyday Latin of the people. He also wrote commentaries on the books of the Bible. Reading this story can encourage us to follow in the footsteps of Saint Jerome, who pursued holiness, studied the Bible, and helped others to gain a better understanding of the Bible. Level 3 books are about 128-144 pages each and are written for about a junior high reading level or higher, although some younger readers are able to read them as well because of the larger print size. This series has books about well-known saints, but it also includes stories about saints and other Catholics that you don't hear about very often. Share your knowledge of this product.
