Taught by a certified IEW instructor with over fifteen years of experience, the class will use source texts from the Connecting with History program to learn the foundational skills of the IEW program, thereby reinforcing the history material studied throughout the school year. Vocabulary and grammar are built into the lessons as a natural method of learning through writing. This class is the first semester of a two-semester course (24 weeks) where the teacher works in tandem with the homeschool parent. Personalized feedback will be provided for the weekly assignments. Weekly classes include review, lessons, vocabulary, grammar, and constant encouragement. Writing has never been so exciting!For students in Years 1, 2 or 3 of Connecting with HistoryIEW Level A: Typically for grades 3-5, this class is open to any student who has had no introduction to the IEW program and/or might require a slower pace. Students should be able to write a basic sentence. This course will work through the first eight IEW units and involves only one paragraph per week as a writing assignment. Schedule: Mondays, 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time Class Dates: August 31, 2021, through November 15, 2021 Cost: $199 per semester/student This class will continue in January, and you will need to re-register.
