Description More Information

In 1810, Mother Mary St. Michel came from France to the Ursuline Sisters in New Orleans, Louisiana, bringing with her a statue of Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Later, when a fire was raging in the city, one of the Sisters asked Our Lady of Prompt Succor for her intercession. Immediately, the wind changed direction and the convent was saved! In 1815, before the Battle of New Orleans, the Sisters prayed all night. After an amazing victory the next day, General Andrew Jackson said, "The unerring hand of Providence shielded my men!"
