LITERATURE AND HISTORICAL FICTION 

Historical fiction and literature titles add life to the study of history. These titles are highly recommended for independent reading and many are appropriate for family read-alouds as well. Several are based upon classical pieces of literature written in the time period being studied in each unit. These first person accounts connect the reader to the times in a way that no textbook can provide.
