Can
Outsiders Be Insiders?
By Fr. Peter M.J.
Stravinskas What does the Catholic Church mean by its doctrine "Outside the
Church There Is No Salvation"? Does this mean that non-Catholics can't be
saved? What's the official Catholic teaching, past and present, about the
Church's mission to evangelize non-Catholics and bring them into eternal life in
Christ? A noted theologian answers these and other crucial questions.

Patron
Saints Index Who's the patron of
your state (political or spiritual)? Condition (physical or spiritual)? Vocation
(monetary or spiritual)? Hobby? Maybe you can find out here. This
site has information on topics with patron saints, and profiles of those saints.
Profiles have portraits, biographical information, areas of patronage, prayers,
links to related sites, readings, etc. It's heavily cross-indexed, and there are
several ways to access the information. Also includes a
timeline of saints

The Warren Carroll Database
This is
a searchable historical event database built from material provided by
Dr.
Warren H. Carroll. As he has worked on his monumental seven-volume History
of Christendom over the past twenty years, Dr. Carroll has kept notes on the
principal events of interest to a Catholic historian in each year beginning with
7 BC, along with references to the works in which a complete account can be
found.

Links
|

The following links are a mix
of secular and Protestant Christian websites which I found helpful in our
homeschool history studies. To the best of my knowledge they contain
nothing erroneous or anti-Catholic, although by their nature they do not contain
a full understanding of or appreciation for the fullness of historical
understanding because they lack a fundamental Catholic world view. If you
discover any anti-Catholic sentiments or information which is contrary to the
Catholic faith please
let me know.

The Food Timeline
What
a great resource! Description from
the site: Ever wonder what the Vikings ate when they set off to explore the new
world? How Dolley Madison made her ice cream? What the pioneers cooked along the
Oregon Trail? Who invented the potato chip...and why? Food is the fun part of
social studies! The tricky part is finding recipes you can make in a modern
kitchen, with ingredients bought at your local supermarket and bring into school
to share with your class. This page is for you! We are also stocking up on
teacher and parent
resources.
Looking for social customs, manners & menus? Try the
Culinary
History Timeline. Bon appetit.

The
Civil War Timeline Project This
site contains detailed descriptions and photos of one homeschooling family's
Civil War unit study, including a wonderful timeline project which could be used
with any period of history you are studying. The site also includes ideas
for a Civil War Journal, costumes and reenactments, writing a
"newspaper", making a filmstrip and a Chess set. This is one
creative family! You'll love this site!
