Historical fiction and literature titles add life to the study of history. Non-fiction books provide an opportunity for research and gaining more in-depth knowledge of a subject of interest.

Several of the books in this list are based upon classical pieces of literature written in the time period being studied in each unit. These first person accounts connect the reader to the times in a way that no textbook can provide.
